It's Been a While, but Look--Cake!

Two-tiered cake with fluffy white icing and nine rosettes with cherries and chocolate shavings.

Back in June, my friend Charlotte Hamrick published a snarky recipe I wrote on her website--yep, sometimes I do those, too--and yep, it's taken me this long to send out the smoke signal.

You see, while I've been ghosting you all this summer, I've been submerged in writing sleep stories, proofreading full-length manuscripts (put that in the dream-come-true category), hosting (or helping with) lots of special ministry events (think vacation Bible school, Christmas-in-July, lunch meetings, Hersheypark, etc.), aaaaand forcing a day off now and then to therapy-bake myself something yummy.

So if you're the type of person who sneaks into bakeries just to drool at all their flaky, drizzly, puff-pastry-y creations; or if you're an amateur baker like me who is maybe crazy enough to want to try something more complicated than the ordinary; or if maybe you just like to giggle and gaggle at photos of yummy treats, click the link below for your daily dose of snark. Oh and cake.

Other Updates

I've now written TWENTY sleep stories for Voice Apps LLC, and I'm waiting (impatiently) for the next step in making these stories available through multiple voice-assistant apps. Truth is, I'm running out of ideas, so, if you have suggestions for themes or places you'd like to explore while falling asleep, drop your ideas in the comments below--maybe you'll get to hear your very own story in the app someday!

As I hinted earlier, my freelance career has taken off thanks to UpWork's wonderful platform. To be perfectly honest, I'm having to choose between the love of money and my sanity, because there's so much good work and so little time.

I haven't written any literary work lately, but I am aggressively trying to get my supernatural story published in time for October (fingers crossed--this guy's been in the works for five years).

Once that's accomplished, I'm hoping to spend more time on a little story called "Lemonade, Cookies, and Jordans." More on that later ;-)

In the meantime, if you haven't already, check out my latest stories here.
